Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars

On July 11, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars ("Mercedes-Benz") announced via its WeChat news account that it had delivered over 377,200 new vehicles to Chinese customers in the first half of 2023, representing a 6% year-on-year growth. 

In the second half of the year, the company plans to launch five new models, including the highly anticipated all-new E-Class.

Specifically, Mercedes-Maybach, G-Class SUVs, and Mercedes-AMG brands all achieved double-digit year-on-year growth in China sales during the past six months. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz's new energy vehicle product lineup has seen steady growth, particularly in sales of the pure electric EQ models. The long-wheelbase versions of the C-Class and E-Class models both achieved double-digit year-on-year jump in sales, while the deliveries of the all-new long-wheelbase GLC continued to rise. Additionally, models such as the A-Class, the GLB SUV, and the EQB pure electric SUV all witnessed a year-on-year surge of over 36% in H1 sales.

Mr. Duan Jianjun, President and CEO of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co., Ltd. (BMBS), stated that "In the second half of the year, we will closely focus on customer demands and launch five new models, including the all-new E-Class. We will further enhance the customer experience ecosystem and upgrade the digital touchpoints for users and Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts. The upgraded Mercedes-Benz application will be launched in the near future.”

Mr. Zhang Yan, Senior Executive Vice President of BMBS added that "We will continue to work together with our dealer partners to meet the diverse experiential needs of different customer groups through exclusive luxury retail spaces. Following the establishment of the world's first G-Class SUV Experience Center outside Graz, which opened in Zhejiang in April, the AMG Brand Center in Ningbo, the AMG City Brand Center in Chengdu, and the AMG City Brand Center in Zhuhai will commence operations in the second half of the year.”
