At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, Leapmotor officially unveiled its new model, the Leapmotor B01. Built on the brand’s latest LEAP 3.5 architecture, the B01 delivers intelligent features comparable to the Leapmotor B10, featuring a Qualcomm 8295 chip for the smart cockpit, an 8650 chip for intelligent driving, and lidar technology. The 2025 B01 will begin pre-sales in June and officially launch in July.

The exterior of the B01 adopts Leapmotor’s newest family design language. The front uses a split headlight setup, with a full-width light strip above and intricately layered lamp housings that enhance its tech-forward look. Below, rectangular lights are seamlessly integrated with the lower grille, presenting a modern and dynamic front face.

On the side, the Leapmotor B01 sports a fastback-style silhouette with hidden door handles, contributing to a drag coefficient as low as 0.197. The vehicle measures 4770mm in length, 1880mm in width, and 1490mm in height, with a 2735mm wheelbase. Positioned as a compact electric sedan, it also features stylish 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with 225/45 R18 tires.

At the rear, the car continues the family design theme with a full-width LED taillight that delivers excellent visibility when illuminated. A powered tailgate comes standard, with a trunk capacity of 460L, plus a 70L hidden compartment beneath the floor. The rear is also equipped with lidar and multiple cameras, suggesting a strong focus on smart driving features.

Inside, the cabin follows Leapmotor’s familiar styling. It includes an 8.8-inch fully digital instrument panel and a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central touchscreen, powered by the Qualcomm 8295 chip and 8650 driving chip. The B01 also retains the versatile front passenger space seen in the B10, featuring a “magic dock” for customizing accessories like folding tables and phone holders.

Seats are wrapped in high-quality leather, with the driver’s seat offering heating, ventilation, and a heated steering wheel. The front passenger seat also includes heating. A large panoramic sunroof with a manual sunshade—a rare choice among new energy brands—adds a premium touch.

Under the hood, the B01 features a native rear-wheel-drive layout. According to earlier regulatory info, it will offer two motor options: 132kW and 160kW, with a maximum CLTC range of 650km. The chassis combines front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension, co-developed with Stellantis, promising a refined driving experience.
