The 2024 Paris Motor Show is still in full swing, and after seeing all these new cars, you might be wondering which of them will be available in our domestic market in the future. Today, we've compiled a list of cars from the Paris Motor Show that are set to be launched in China, including the all-new Audi Q5/A5, Volkswagen Tayron, and the debut of a new Chinese brand model, LEAPMOTOR B10. Let's take a closer look!
● All-new Audi Q5
Release Date: 2025
At the Audi booth, the new generation of the Audi Q5 made its official appearance. As a new generation model, it is built on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) and features the latest design style, making it more stylish overall. Notably, a long-wheelbase version of the all-new Audi Q5L is expected to be launched domestically in 2025.

In terms of exterior design, the new model introduces an innovative upgrade to the existing family design language. The iconic large, multi-sided front grille is adorned with a scale-like mesh, paired with sharper headlight clusters for a striking visual effect. The addition of oversized, three-section air intakes also enhances the car's sporty feel.

On the side, the new car features a sleek waistline running across the body, with recessed wheel arches paired with newly designed dual five-spoke wheels, enhancing its modern appeal. At the rear, the new model adopts a popular continuous taillight design with second-generation OLED light sources. The rear bumper has a circular silver trim that accentuates its three-dimensional look, and it features a dual exhaust system.

Inside, the new Q5 adopts an OLED curved dual-screen setup, consisting of an 11.9-inch full digital display and a 14.5-inch MMI touchscreen. There is also a 10.9-inch entertainment screen in front of the front passenger. It is equipped with interactive ambient lighting that responds to certain functions, enhancing the sense of technology. Additionally, the in-car system runs on Android Automotive OS, although localized adjustments are expected for the domestic version. Configuration highlights include 15W wireless phone charging (with a cooling system), a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system (685W), active noise cancellation (VNC), enhanced adaptive driving assistance, and adjustable rear seats that can increase trunk space to 1,473 liters when folded.

In terms of power, the car is equipped with a 2.0T four-cylinder engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing a maximum output of 200 kW. It comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the quattro all-wheel-drive system. Additionally, the new Audi SQ5 has been announced, featuring a 3.0T twin-turbo V6 engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing up to 270 kW, and paired with the same transmission and drivetrain.

*Editor's Note:*
Among the mid-size SUVs from BBA (BMW, Benz, Audi), the new Mercedes-Benz GLC has been on the market for over a year, and the new BMW X3 is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025. The all-new Audi Q5L will likely launch later, so it faces significant pressure to stand out. The design of the new Audi Q5 caters well to the preferences of Chinese consumers, featuring three large screens up front and a new Android in-car system, which promises impressive intelligent capabilities. In terms of space, both the Mercedes-Benz GLC and new BMW X3 have set benchmarks with their long-wheelbase versions at 2977/2975mm. The new Audi Q5L should be at a similar level, if not longer, making its spaciousness worth looking forward to.
● All-new Audi A5 (A4 Redesign)
*Release Date: Mid-2025*
The new generation of the Audi A5 (the redesigned Audi A4) was officially unveiled at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, showcasing the wagon variant. This model is built on the PPC platform, with upgrades to its exterior, interior, and powertrain. The future domestic sedan version will feature an extended wheelbase and come in two versions: FAW-Audi and SAIC-Audi.

The new car’s front end features a hexagonal grille with a black honeycomb mesh pattern, while the Audi logo is also blacked out. The LED matrix headlights, the latest from Audi, come with programmable features, offering eight different digital light signatures, divided into upper and lower sections. Below the headlights, there are quadrilateral trim pieces, which may have contrasting colors on S or S Line models.

The new A5 retains its classic wagon design, combining elegance and sportiness. The door handles are semi-concealed. The car measures 4829mm in length, 1860mm in width, and 1444mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. At the rear, the continuous taillights feature a comb-like design, and the bottom has a sporty diffuser.

Inside, the new A5 features a three-screen setup: an 11.9-inch instrument screen, a 14.5-inch central control screen, and a 10.9-inch passenger display. The central screen is slightly angled towards the driver, and many physical buttons have been streamlined. Below the central control, there is a storage compartment and wireless charging area, along with a TYPE-C charging port.

Under the hood, the new A5 petrol models come with 2.0TFSI engines. The lower power variant offers 110 kW (150 hp), while the higher power version delivers 150 kW (204 hp), featuring VTG variable turbine technology. The 150 hp version is front-wheel drive, while the 204 hp version is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive. In certain markets, there will also be a 200 kW (272 hp) model available.

*Editor's Note:*
You may wonder why the A4 has become the A5. This is because Audi's odd-numbered series will feature internal combustion engines, while even-numbered series will be electric. The new Audi A5 shares the PPC platform with the Q5, boasting comprehensive upgrades in design, interior, and power, especially in in-car technology and intelligent features, giving it a competitive edge against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series. The wagon version was displayed at the Paris Motor Show, and Audi has been the most proactive among the BBA brands in introducing wagons, so wagon enthusiasts can expect future imports.
● Audi S6 e-tron
*Release Date: To be Announced*
The Audi S6 e-tron made its debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. It is the performance version of the Audi A6 e-tron and the second model born on the Audi PPE electric platform, positioned as a mid-large car. The Audi A6 e-tron will be produced domestically at FAW-Audi’s Changchun PPE factory, with extended wheelbases and upgrades in design, space, range, intelligent driving, and smart cabins to cater to Chinese consumers' needs.

Both Sportback and Avant versions will be available for the Audi S6 e-tron. It retains the design language of the Audi family but differentiates itself from the fuel-powered A6 with a more youthful and sporty appearance. The front grille still maintains the Audi family’s signature shape, while intelligent driving sensors are discreetly integrated into the front bumper’s black sections. The car features split headlights, with LED daytime running lights offering eight different changeable patterns.

The Audi S6 Sportback e-tron's rear is extremely dynamic, with a fastback design and continuous OLED taillights that are a new design hallmark for Audi. The taillights can display warning symbols when incidents or failures occur, and the Audi logo can light up at night.
Inside, the S6 e-tron uses a wraparound dashboard design with irregularly shaped screens. It features three screens (11.9-inch, 14.5-inch, and 10.9-inch), and a second-generation AR-HUD that can display speed, traffic signs, and navigation. The car’s system runs on Android Automotive OS, allowing OTA updates and supporting the latest Audi Connect services. Through integration with ChatGPT AI, the voice control system offers a more natural interaction with the car, providing passengers with the information they need. The Bang & Olufsen sound system, featuring 20 speakers, includes headrest speakers. Additionally, the panoramic roof can switch between transparent and opaque settings electronically.

The Audi S6 e-tron’s motors produce a maximum of 503 hp, with a peak output of 551 hp in certain modes. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h. The quattro all-wheel-drive system enhances handling by adjusting torque distribution. Adaptive air suspension comes standard, offering four levels of ride height adjustment to balance comfort and sportiness. In low-energy mode, the suspension lowers the car by 20mm at high speeds to improve aerodynamics and extend the range.
*Editor's Note:*
In the era of electrification, Audi maintains the A6 and S6 distinctions, with an RS6 e-tron expected based on spy photos. The rise of Chinese electric vehicle brands has put pressure on traditional brands like Audi, with many electric vehicles already offering 500-600 hp without a “high-performance” badge. While raw power is impressive, it's the German precision engineering and chassis control that may make the S6 e-tron’s driving experience stand out.

The dual-motor system offers a peak power output of 517 hp, and the Sportback version retains a sportier design than the standard Q6 e-tron, with an aerodynamic fastback profile.

Editor's Note: The Q6 e-tron marks Audi's continued expansion into electric SUVs, following the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron. As electric SUVs become increasingly popular, Audi is keen to attract customers looking for premium design and cutting-edge electric performance.
