I don't know since when, people have associated hard-core off-road vehicles with the square box shape. What makes the Leopard 5 different from other "square boxes" is that while retaining the power of a hard-core off-road vehicle, it also does not lose out in terms of technological atmosphere, which is more in line with the shape of a "modern hard-core off-road vehicle" in my mind.
It is not difficult to see that the interior of the Leopard 5 has been carefully designed. The shift lever adopts a liftable design. When the vehicle starts, the shift lever will slowly rise, and when it is turned off, it will slowly fall back, giving a full sense of ceremony. In addition, the armrest box is designed as a refrigerator, which supports cooling and heating functions, so that you can drink a glass of ice cola or hot milk when you are off-road in the wild.

Before the test, we set the air conditioner to 23 degrees automatic and air conditioner economy mode, the driving mode was forced EV+ economy, SOC intelligent power conservation was 25%, and the kinetic energy recovery intensity was high. During the test, we experienced sections such as highways and urban congested roads.
We then conducted a power-feed fuel consumption test, which started when the battery level was 18%, with the driving mode set to HEV+Economy, SOC intelligent power conservation at 25%, high kinetic energy recovery intensity, on-site power replenishment off, and the air conditioning settings unchanged. We also experienced high-speed and congested road conditions throughout the process. The vehicle stopped the test after driving 113.2 kilometers, with an average speed of 30.3km/h. A total of 8L of No. 92 gasoline was added, and the battery level was reversed from 18% to 21%. In the end, we measured the power-feed fuel consumption to be 7.07L/100km.

After the endurance test, we used a charging station with a rated power of 250 kilowatts to charge the vehicle. It took a total of 40 minutes to charge the battery from 18% to 100%, and 15 minutes to charge from 30-80%.
● Performance test
The next step is the performance test. The Formula Leopard 5 participating in the test is the 2023 Pilot Edition, with a maximum power of 687 horsepower, a maximum torque of 760 Nm, and a four-wheel drive.
However, the Leopard 5, which performed well in the acceleration test, suffered a Waterloo in the braking test. During the test, the vehicle tilted forward seriously, the tire grip performance was average, and there was a serious deviation in the braking direction. Fortunately, the brake pedal travel was moderate, the foot feel was good, and the ABS intervened in time.
In ten consecutive full-force brakings, the front of the vehicle swung severely at the second brake, resulting in reduced tire grip. At the fifth brake, regular thermal decay began to occur. For a vehicle with a curb weight of nearly three tons, it is not easy to brake. Are you satisfied with this result?

The 0-400m acceleration test is a test of the vehicle's continuous acceleration capability. In this part, the Fangcheng Leopard 5 has a strong momentum in the first half of the acceleration, and there is a trend of power decline in the second half of the acceleration, but the speed at the finish line still reaches 171.74km/h.

In the AEB fake car test, the Leopard 5 was able to successfully stop and avoid collision at speeds of 10-50km/h, accompanied by sound, image and HUD prompts. At 10km/h, the recognition was late and the braking force was heavy. When it rose to other speed levels, the recognition timing and braking timing were moderate.
In the AEB ghost test, the Fangcheng Leopard 5 was able to successfully brake to avoid a collision at a speed of 10-30km/h, with sound, image and HUD prompts, but the recognition was late, resulting in heavier braking force.
