The car in front of me is the just released aito new M7 ULTRA, which I think after driving it would be more aptly named the aito M9 Youth Edition.
I'm sure you won't believe me when I say how much of a change this car is compared to the existing M7, so go out and experience the real thing for yourself, and if I'm right, come back and give me a shout out, and if I'm wrong or exaggerating, feel free to discuss it with me in the comments section.
In the previous two years, as an avid fan of asking about the M5, I've posted many driving reviews of the M5, but the aito M7 has never been reviewed because the M7 is more prominent in its domestic attributes, and there's not a lot I can say about it in terms of the driving dimension alone, so when I saw this new aito M7, combined with the positioning of the car, I wasn't really looking forward to it. I thought its highlights would be the M9 front that has become young and stylish, I thought the highlights would be the latest Big S 2.0 system with the same 192-thread LIDAR as the M9 to make the bracket even stronger, and I thought its highlights would be the same interior as the M9 and the tweeter-head recirculating diffusers that show off the value of the car. But it was only on opening that I realised these were not the highlights, the car's chassis has nothing to do with the current model at all.
The new M7's chassis is German-flavoured, very much tuned like a German luxury SUV, and not at all the gentle, fragrant softness of the current MG. Front MacPherson rear multi-link chassis hardware, only added a CDC can have such a good chassis texture, this is what I have been talking about the importance of tuning.
And the more intense driving the new M7, the more you can feel the chassis tuning efforts, the longer the ride, the more you can experience the comfort and solidity of the chassis. When I talked about the M5, I always used the perfect combination of sport and comfort to describe its chassis tuning, and now this chassis has finally been carried over to the new M7, so let's take a look at the new M7's driving performance on the city's fastest roads.
Wow, in this sport mode, its throttle response is very fast ah, is no false position. And the pedal doesn't feel like it's going down, it's very linear and pushes you out. And I must say, the M7 chassis do is really, is not so soft collapse, fluttering that kind of feeling, is already really like aito M9 to close, has been very support is very good, is also stable and retained the sense of the road, so that you drive up to feel that the car is very controllable, rather than driving a big sofa like a boat like a yo-yo yo-yo yo-yo feeling. So you see the husky in driving this car has become very confident, well, I also want to try ah, I also want to try, is the suspension adjusted to the softer, fast lane change is what it feels like to go.
Points back ah, also can be, the suspension is soft also not the kind of very uncontrollable, the car is going to be thrown out to the side of the feeling. So really really love, the overall driving feeling with the last generation change is very very big, in that aito lineup, I have been aito M5 fans ah, and then has been constantly with the handling does not go out of the horse, it seems to cross this aito M5, and the mechanical quality of the M9 do is relatively good, drive up very stable, and then even if you drive more aggressive, the chassis er side Tilt control will also do a very good job, so that drivers and passengers in the car will not feel shaky. Now ask the M7, the new aito m7 also did this level.
